Stories Have the Power to Transform
“Education is the single greatest gift we can give a child in rural Cambodia. When you support a pupil here, you don’t merely teach one child — you uplift their entire family and community.”

Glad Tidings International School was established in 2007 with a clear Christian mission: to provide high-quality education and character formation where it is needed most. We combine rigorous academics with our core RICE values — Resilience, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence.

Educating children in Kampong Speu

Before giving anything, it is worth knowing what the school actually does with its days.

Teaching and learning

The school opened in October 2007 with three pupils and four teachers. Children now join us in Grade 1 and stay through to Grade 12, sitting Cambodia’s national examinations at Grade 9 and again at Grade 12.

Character as well as marks

Alongside their lessons, students are taught resilience, integrity, compassion and excellence — the RICE values on our school crest — and are given real responsibility for one another through the student clubs.

Why the school is here

Glad Tidings Church, Singapore started the school with ICM Singapore with a simple aim: to raise the educational standards of the children in this part of Cambodia, because education is one of the ways a family’s life gets better.

Our history
Who It Reaches

Who your giving reaches

The school has never been paid for by its fees alone.

1

Fees kept within reach

From the day it opened the school kept its fees low — pegged at first at one US dollar per grade — so that what a family could pay was not what decided whether a child was taught. Fees were raised in 2024 to put the school back on a sound footing after the pandemic years.

2

Student scholarships & assistance

Every child deserves access to quality education. Donor contributions help provide scholarships, school supplies, and learning resources to ensure all children can continue their education without interruption.

3

Where the money comes from

The school is funded largely by supporters in Singapore and by Glad Tidings Church. That giving is what makes these scholarships possible, and it is what carried the school through the years when fees stopped coming in.
